Product Overview

Moisture Powder, often referred to as Anti-Moisture Powder or Desiccant Powder, is an essential additive for the plastic processing industry — particularly for manufacturers using recycled polymers (regranulates). Recycled plastics naturally absorb moisture from the environment. During high-temperature extrusion or injection molding, this trapped moisture vaporizes, causing defects such as silver streaks, bubbles, voids, "lacing", and structural weakness in the final product. Our proprietary Moisture Powder reacts chemically with this trapped moisture, permanently binding it before it can vaporize. By simply mixing a small percentage (1-3%) of our powder with the plastic granules before processing, manufacturers can completely bypass the time-consuming and energy-intensive pre-drying process, significantly increasing production speed and reducing energy costs.

How much powder should I mix with the plastic?

The standard dosage is 1% to 3% by weight, depending on the moisture content of your recycled plastic granules.

Do I still need to pre-dry the plastic?

No, that is the main benefit. Mixing this powder eliminates the need for oven-drying or hopper-drying, saving significant time and electricity.

Will it affect the colour of the plastic?

Our powder is very fine and generally white/light grey. At a 1-2% dosage, it has negligible impact on the final colour.
