Mineral Powders for the Paper & Packaging Industry

The paper and packaging industry is a major consumer of mineral fillers and coating pigments. At Ridhi Sidhi Microns, we manufacture grades specifically developed for the paper industry's demanding requirements where brightness, particle size control, and purity are critical. As a body filler, calcium carbonate (calcite) is added to the paper furnish. The mineral filler replaces expensive wood fibre, reducing raw material cost while improving paper opacity, brightness, and smoothness. As a coating pigment, Ground Calcium Carbonate (GCC) and china clay (kaolin) are applied to the paper surface. The coating provides a smooth, bright, glossy surface ideal for high-quality printing. Our GCC with D50 values of 2–5 µm and brightness exceeding 96 is designed for paper coating applications. China clay (kaolin) provides the paper surface with the optimal balance of brightness, smoothness, gloss, and printability. Talc powder serves an essential role as a pitch control agent, adsorbing sticky organic deposits from wood resin that accumulate on paper machine surfaces.
